Foot care. Foot scrub. Washing feet. Bathing.

I have always struggled with calluses, roughness, and dry, cracked skin on my heels. In the summer, this is never a good look when you want to wear cute sandals or just be barefoot in general. I took the matter into my own hands and have found a routine that works AMAZING for me. Here are the steps:

1. Remove the dead skin. (with dry or wet feet)

I use the “Colossal Foot rasp Foot File and Callus Remover”. I found this product on amazon that has 4.7 stars with almost 100,000 reviews and it’s less than 10 dollars. I have found that pumice stone and other skin removal methods have not worked as well for me, but you can of course use whichever method works well for you.

2. Wash your feet.

I do this step in the shower using regular soap or body wash, making sure to clean between each toe. You can also do a foot bath using epsom salt.

3. Moisturize.

This step is so important. I use vaseline and lather up my feet. It does feel a little thick and odd at first, but it is a really great option for people who have extremely dry, cracked skin. You can use a thinner oil such as coconut oil if you prefer, or any other body lotion that works for you.

4. Put on socks.

This step is also important because it lets all of the moisture absorb into the skin. Keep your socks on for as long as it takes to soak in. (usually about 30 minutes to an hour)
